Privacy policy.

How U.S. Software Inc. handles your information when you visit ussoftware.io or get in touch with us.

Starter content. Effective January 15, 2020. This is a working draft — please have counsel review before relying on it.

1 · Who we are

U.S. Software Inc. (“U.S. Software,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a software development company headquartered in Los Angeles, California. This policy describes how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use ussoftware.io (the “Site”).

2 · Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit our contact form we collect your name, email, company, and the message you send. When you apply through our open roles form we collect your name, email, role of interest, your CV file, and any cover letter or notes you include.

Information collected automatically. Our hosting infrastructure logs your IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and approximate timestamps. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site — see our Cookies policy for details.

Bot protection. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which collects limited browser and network signals to distinguish humans from automated abuse.

3 · How we use information

We use the information we collect to respond to your inquiries, evaluate job applications, operate and secure the Site, understand visitor behaviour at an aggregate level, and comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

4 · How we share information

We share information only with the service providers who help us run the Site:

  • FormSubmit.co — processes contact and job application forms and routes them to info@ussoftware.io and jobs@ussoftware.io.
  • Cloudflare — bot protection (Turnstile) for our forms.
  • Google Analytics — aggregate site usage analytics.
  • Amazon Web Services — hosting and infrastructure.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger or acquisition.

5 · How long we keep information

We keep contact-form messages and job applications for as long as needed to handle your inquiry or evaluate your candidacy, plus a reasonable retention period for record-keeping and legal purposes. Server logs are retained for a limited operational window. You can ask us to delete your information sooner — see Section 7.

6 · Security

We use industry-standard administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information — see our Security page for more. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7 · Your California privacy rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have collected about you and how we have used and shared it.
  • Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
  • Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email legal@ussoftware.io. We will need to verify your identity before we can act on a request.

8 · Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9 · Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Effective” date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
