Cookies policy.

What cookies are, the ones we use on ussoftware.io, and how to control them.

Starter content. Effective January 15, 2020. This is a working draft — please have counsel review before relying on it.

1 · What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device. They let the site remember things about your visit — like that you proved you’re human on a contact form — and help us understand how the site is used. Some cookies are set by us; others are set by third-party services we rely on.

2 · Cookies we use

Strictly necessary

  • Cloudflare Turnstile — set when you interact with our contact or job-application forms, to distinguish humans from bots. Without these, the forms cannot be submitted.
  • WordPress session — set only if you log in to the WordPress administration area. Public visitors are not logged in and do not receive these cookies.

Analytics

  • Google Analytics — sets _ga and _ga_* cookies to count unique visitors and report aggregate trends like which pages are most read. We do not use this data to identify you personally or to target advertising.

3 · What we don’t use

We don’t use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, social-media tracking pixels, or any third-party trackers beyond the analytics service named above. We don’t sell your data.

4 · How to control cookies

In your browser. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Search your browser’s help for “cookies” for instructions. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent our forms from working.

Opting out of Google Analytics. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout to prevent your visit from being measured.

5 · Changes to this policy

If we change the cookies we use, we’ll update this page and revise the “Effective” date at the top.
